Compassionate Mindful Resilience
Next course starts September 4th
4 weeks - online
What is the CMR course & who is it for?
Contrary to some beliefs, self-compassion is not self-indulgence or a sign of weakness. It is in fact quite the opposite. It is the secret to resilience and the ability to learn from mistakes and become stronger in the face of 'failure'.
Self-compassion involves treating yourself as you would a friend and being more mindful, and understanding of our own situation in the context of a larger human experience.

When we can be more understanding and kinder to ourselves, identify less with the emotions that surround our mistakes, and understand that failure is a normal part of the larger human experience, we become more resilient and successful over time.

The course was created by Karen Atkinson, founder and owner of Mindfulness UK, and is built from the recognition that to help us navigate the world, we need to strengthen our levels of mindfulness, compassion and resilience

It was designed to support those people who care for others, and so it works well for people who are time poor and want to learn tools that can fit into their busy schedule.
The course is also relevant for anyone who is looking for tools and techniques to quieten their inner critic, reduce chattering and negative thoughts and support their overall wellbeing.
There is now a growing body of evidence to support the fact that practising self-compassion, together with mindfulness, supports your wellbeing and helps you to help others.
If you want others to be happy, practise compassion.

Why I run this course
In 2007 I was assaulted and suffered from PTSD. Prior to this I’d never really heard of mindfulness, never meditated and although I thought I had been happy, I realise now that my life was based on reacting to what life gave me, rather than being proactive and seeking out what I wanted. I wasn’t living a particularly conscious life.

Having experienced the transformative effects of mindfulness in my recovery, I developed a passion for wellbeing with mindfulness at the core. I took an MBSR course several years ago and subsequently decided I wanted to teach it and share it’s transformational benefits with others.
Mindfulness has helped me live a more conscious, happy and fulfilled life however it isn't a one size fits all and the addition of conscious self-compassion to mindfulness is something I strongly believe in.
This course is accessible and practical for all and I am passionate about sharing it with as many people as possible!
